The Holy Rollers

Exactly one week ago, I particpated in a bowl-a-thon to benefit the Center for Cancer Support and Education. This, my friends, wasn't an ordinary bowling match but was, instead, candlepin bowling, a game native to New England. The alley is similar to that of standard bowling but it's more like a large version of skee-ball. The balls are softball sized and the pins are much thinner. Also, you have 3 throws per box (aka "frame") to knock down 10 pins, which is a LOT harder than it sounds. Especially since the knocked down pins aren't cleared between throws. Out of the two games I bowled, my highest score was 81. Everyone who visits me in Boston will have to try it out. Oh, and my final tally for fundraising was $137.88, thanks to everyone who chipped in.

Adding to the fun/mayhem, this was a costume themed bowlathon and my team was called the Holy Rollers. It consisted of a priest (me), a nun and 3 catcholic school girls.
